The Argentinian Mariano Pelizzari created Travelgenio, a Spanish online travel agency, in 2010. Since then, 3 years ago, the success of this company has been increasing year by year, with a gross turnover in 2012 of € 90MM, its forecast for 2013 is expected to rise to 150 million €.
With presence in mostly all the European countries, Travelgenio expects to arrive to Latin America during next year and improve that way their portfolio.
Is there an only reason for traveling?
From all the experience we have in Travelgenio, the first motivation that make passengers get on board of a plane is tourism or leisure, followed by visiting relatives or friends.
What is people looking for when they search info for a trip?
As it can be seen in the 1st Study of Airlines Customer Satisfaction we published last year, over the 68.04% of travelers want prices considered acceptable or excellent before booking. So price, travelers are always looking for good prices for their trips. Of course they also look for a good attention. We have improved our customer service. We think it is very important to help our customers with their doubts or incidences. By now, they can contact us every day of the year in many languages by mail, phone or in the main social media. We want our customer’s final satisfaction, it is the only way for owning their confidence.
So the low cost have everything easier.. don’t they?
Without doubt the final positioning of the low cost airlines on short-haul and medium haul has become strengthened even against the historical companies. As we see in Travelgenio’s bookings, we can say that yes, actually they are the most demanded option and they will have their space, as today, in the future.
You launched a book called Destinario. It is for free. What can you tell us about this?
Well, it has been a real challenge for us as it was the first time we worked in something like this. We have tried to include plans and destinations for any type of travelers. Travelgenio worked hard to give the best quality in this work, as we do in our day by day. We are sure some of the destinations will give ideas for new trips and new dreams. Since the launch, there have been thousands of downloads. We are very happy of the result. Every message we receive about this book is possitive. That can only mean we’ve done something right and interesting for our customers and followers. We feel very proud of the result of this book.
